Solving the mystery will lead Bolitar down some painful, emotional roads that a deep for this genre. Coben is in fine form in Fade Away. This is an entertaining book that at times is a little light on substance and action but definitely proves adequate for a fun read. He and Win face some of the usual types of thugs as they uncover clues and find themselves in a the middle of a murder mystery. Bolitar and his super-hero-like friend Win track down a missing NBA superstar. In the process, Bolitar finds himself with a second chance in the NBA.
Coben will twist a story til the end. I simply can not get enough of Coben's books. Everytime you think you have a mystery solved, Coben takes a twist at the end of a chapter and you can't put it down. This is a must read for all Coben fans. You will not be disappointed.
Coben's combination of suspense with humor is skillful and entertaining. I am reading my fifth Harlan Coben novel. I'm hooked.I thoroughly enjoyed Fade Away.
Coben imbues this ace detective with all the wit, charm and self-derisive commentary necessary for a really great time. Funny stuff.
Harlan Coben is easily one of my favorite authors. The catch: Myron is really being signed to hire missing basketball star Greg Downing. FADE AWAY is the third in the series and is full of the witty dialogue, engrossing characters and incredible twists and turns that Coben is know for.At 32, Myron Bolitar has accomplished a lot in life. In the preseason before his rookie NBA season, Myron suffered a career ending knee injury.
Esparanza, the ex-pro wrestler, and now business partner works right beside Myron as well.FADE AWAY is a book all Coben fans must read. Myron and Downing share a past that includes both basketball and women. In this book, you learn a little more about Myron's past with the FBI. Coben excels at plotting, characterization and all around fun books. Win is still there, a great friend with a dubious look at morality. If you're just now reading his recent novels like LONG LOST or THE WOODS, you need to go back to the beginning and read all the Myron Bolitar novels.
Myron soon discovers Downing was involved in some seedy things, including gambling, the mob, fugitives and blackmail. The story is typical Coben, which means it is a fun, fast read. He's been a college basketball star, he passed the bar exam, he worked with the FBI, and now he's a sports agent. Now, several years later, the same GM that drafted him wants to sign him to play for the NBA New Jersey Dragons.
